A student from Paschal High School will lead a discussion on how the use of language or grammar can target or marginalize people of color. Consequently, language is also used as a discrimination tool by stereotyping individuals as lazy, uneducated, or ignorant. The English language should build bridges among racial groups and evolve with societal changes instead of disconnecting schools, communities, or impeding progress within certain groups of people.
